Aiptasia - Anyone tried this?

It looks to me to be nothing more than kalkwasser paste. I bought Joe's Juice and that is pretty much what it is with some stuff added to make the aiptasia want to injest the substance. Take 20 ml of RO/DI and 3 - 4 tsp of kalkwasser. Make a slurry and use it the same way.

I've never used anything other than kalkwasser paste to get rid of aiptasia and majano anemones. If you buy the Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime (same chemical), it really doesn't get any cheaper than that (~$2.50 for a 1 pound container). It's just as effective as the hobby oriented kalk products... we had several aiptasia and majano anemones, but after treatment we've yet to have another one of either pop up.

Well b/4 I bought Joe's Juice I thought it was something great.. Then I found out I had all of the ingredients in my tank supplies.. :duh:

I have a bad case of apstasia right now and I have finally broken down and bought Joes Juice to get rid of it, hopefully. I got tired of the kalwasser paste mix which was a waste. The peppermints either died out or were eaten by the other inhabitants so I went to my LFS and he suggested Joes. I just hope it really works because all of you out there also live by it. I put some in today and will see tomorrow if something happens.:feedback:

Lebloom what do you mean you "put some in?" Joe's Juice just like kalkwasser paste needs to be directly squirted on eat head of the Aiptasia to get them to injest the substance thus causing its demise.

If you just dumped the bottle into the tank your not going to see any results. If you look at the video link that Jonah posted above that is the exact way that Joe's Juice or Kalkwasser Paste needs to be used.

hey I'm sorry for being so general. I meant to say that I squirted it into the aptasia. I just wouldn't dump that stuff into my tank in fact I don't like putting something in my tank like that at all. nearly everyone lives by this stuff and it took me a long time. Kalkwasser does not work by the way and nobody ought to preach to use that stuff either.
