Looks good but get rid of the tetra heater and buy something more reliable.

Very nice setup. Are you thinking of painting the backglass or getting a background for it?

yes, i was thinking either, black or blue back round, do you guys think i will need that filter when there is 22lbs of LR in there, i will be adding more in about a month, probly 12 more pounds, also what what is a good stocking plan, i plan on have a 3" maroon white stripe clown that is in my LFS, what will go good with him?,
thanks,
Shane

also, jojo22, i am going to put that heater in my 10 gal qourintine tank, what heater do you suggest i get for my display, also what do i need for my qourintine? when i get my display cycled, i will fill my 10 gall with the cycled water, does that sound right?
thanks,
Shane

I like titanium heaters, just in case a rock falls and hits them. For a qt tank all you really need is a heater and HOB filter, run it like a FO tank. I have even heard of people keeping a single damsel in them to keep from having a cycle when they use them.

Hang On Back

Any filter that hangs on the back such as an Aquaclear

Capture him, leave him (depending on fish being QT'd) breeding nets will work, and if he dies you're out 6 bucks

You should get a fully submerisble heater instead of a hob, and yes you should get a filter of some sort. canister filters work great and you could get a marineland hob emperor filter which work great and are very cheap if your not going to build a sump.

OK first of all the tetra heater he has is submersible, but it's junk!!
Second the filter would be for the QT tank. There is no need for a filter on the display, LR will do all the filtering. You don't want to put LR in a QT tank as if you use meds MOST of them will kill anything on the rock. So a cheap cascade filter will be fine, or no filter at all if you want to do a few extra PWC's on your QT tank each week.

I used that tetra heater he has in a 12g for awhile. Never had a problem with it. Is it notorious for failing?
