Last week I led a few people on a field trip to the largest Koi breeding farm in Israel known as Hazorea Aquatics - www.hazorea-aquatics.com (http://www.hazorea-aquatics.com)

They raise Koi, goldfish and water lilies and I built a page with many pictures of our field trip at:
www.interall.co.il/hazorea-aquatics.html (http://www.interall.co.il/hazorea-aquatics.html)

I assume many of you who have ponds will appreciate this.

I am amazed at their ability to keep the water quality good enough to keep all those fish healthy! God help them if a disease breaks out!

They have some massive filters and the entire system is interconnected. Our host told me that each tank has its water changed every 30 minutes.

Their growing system has about 1500 cu. m. (about 400 thousand US gallons) of water in it. It is divided into 4 separate systems - each with a Hydrotech drum filter for solids, a Hanovia UV filter and a self constructed trickle tower. The water is circulated a few times per hour.
