Does RO eliminate the need for water treatment chemicals (ei. Prime)?

it depends on the ro system you have.

mine is from the filter guys.and has the chlorine/chloramine remover.

along with what star said, you may have to add stuff back to the water because it is so pure. There are RO supplements that provide the good minerals and electrolyte type stuff (not sure what it really is) so your fish can be healthy. RO systems can strip the water of everythinig, for better or worse.

So can you just use a chlorine/chloramine filter?

what other things do liquid decholrinators treat?

ro/di fileters can remove both.
the water treatments like prime not only remove chlrine it breaks the ammonia/chlrine bond in chloramines.it then binds the ammonia making it less toxic in the form of ammonium. so it can be used to lock up ammonia in the tank.
