Sex of an Angel

How do you tell the sex of an Angel when they are around an inch to 2 inches(body only)?
 
Impossible to tell until a pair are spawning im afraid.
 
actually there are no real distinguishing characteristics other than the breeding tubes(ovipositors)
 
gotta wait until they are older. breeding tubes is the most effective way to tell, but it still takes a somewhat experienced eye to tell the difference. some people will say that the shape of the forehead or angle of the fins is a way to tell, but even those methods, however accurate they may be (or not) require the fish to be more mature.
 
If you are looking to get a pair, you have a 95% chance of a pair forming if you keep 6 together. They will pair up naturally and all you have to do is wait.
