Thought maybe this section would be the best place to ask this question!
LFS has TWO in stock right now - and on asking them the frequency they get them in they said they had had them in maybe 3 times in the last 2 years :(
Am considering turning the 15G into a cory tank, currently has the 4 albino corys in there and the surviving neons.
Would it be ok to have just the 2 pandas in there? Sounds like it could be difficult to get more, at least in the short term.
I'm thinking of being cheeky and asking to see their list, they due for an order shortly - but it is purely dependant on what the importer is bringing in, so no guarantees I could get them some buddies that way either...
Also would it be ok to put maybe a male betta in with them or would he just be plain "run over" by my hyper lil guys (albinos)?
Haven't witnessed any head-ons yet, but sure have seen some super funny side on crashes and what look like deliberate 'bombs' from above!!
The pandas are rather pricey, but I feel so bad for the lil guys and hate the thought of them getting sold to separate homes!!
Any advice?

I would buy them, they will hang out with your other cories (not as well as with their own kind). My lone brochis has been adopted by my sterbas (which are much bigger and look completely different). I think you could have a betta in the tank or a dwarf gourami ( i like honey gourami). Are you going to qt?
Pandas aren't expensive here.:D I have 8 now. Planning to get the last 3.:nilly:

Ok - if they still there next Tuesday (I'll phone Monday avo), I will SERIOUSLY consider bringing them home with me!!
I guess QT would be a good idea - just not exactly sure where to put the 10G!! If/when the 47G arrives (supposed to be Friday) it could be somewhat challenging - hence the Monday phone call!!
I've had the 10G hob filter running on the 15G (along with the 'Tetra-nator'), so it should be ok to go! The other advantage would be starting them off with the exact same parameters as the lfs, then maybe adding a small piece of driftwood and some moss (jeez does that stuff grow!!) to bring it into line with the 15G for the swapover.
How long would you normally QT them for?
I would also be getting the betta from someone else - I may have to wait on that until he has the ones I like!! A semi local guy sells them via a NZ auction site and he breeds some BEAUTIFUL looking bettas!! Worth waiting for to get those gorgeous extra long fins!!
As always many thanks for the advice!!

On the floor or under the tank stand..:naughty:

4 weeks.

LOL - cheers for that, unfortunately if the tank was on the floor my 'lil mister' would be compelled to splash around in it - when I get around to uploading I'll post the pics of him 'helping' with a wc - ARRRGHHH!!
I was off for another bucket and made the mistake of leaving a coupla full (of emptied tank water) on the floor. When I came back (30 seconds maybe?) he was happily splashing around with the 6-odd peek-a-blocks he'd fired in there!! They still sitting on the windowsill waiting for the bleach I soaked them in to drain out :)
Anyone know any shortcuts for getting bleach out of peek-a-blocks? :grinyes:
The added 'bonus' was not only did I have to clean up the water he got all over the floor in the living room, I put him straight in the bath afterwards and he decided to practice kicking!! Water, water EVERYWHERE
I think it would be possible to put it on the kitchen bench and it would fit beneath the overhead cupboards so I wouldn't lose bench space. I'd just need to clear a space! Will measure later :)
Thanks Lupin & Msjinkzd!!

I put my qt on my bedroom dresser, lol, not beautiful but it works. I qt for about a month, if they get sick when in qt you are supposed to start the qt process over for an additional four weeks after treatment is completed. Honestly, I don't always wait the full four weeks, it usually ends up being more like three because I am impatient. This hasn't bitten me back yet but I am sure it could.
As far as the peek-a-blocks, I usually put stuff in the dishwasher.
Remember if you put the qt on your kitchen counter, you are going to have to be able to get to it easily for feeding/maintenance. A 10g isn't so heavy so it can rest on a sturdy bookshelf or dresser.
Can't wait to hear if you get the 47g! Good luck with the new pandas if you get them and glad to hear you have four neons non being enticed by the tetra-nator.
