Hi,

My father has a very large decorative fishtank in the reception area of his office. I'm looking for big pieces of skeletal coral to put in it.

Thanks.

I live in Westchester County. I can go into the city if there is a good place there.....I can also travel to northern New Jersey, Long Island, and Connecticut.

If you cant find a store, look on-line. There are several places that sell "reef bones" for reasonable prices ( 40lbs @ 54.00 ereeftank.com)

Here is a page of a company that sells dead coral skeletons if you so wish to go down that route.

My opinion is that its unethical to have this in the tank, and it should be left out on the reef to sustain it and allow the reef to expand and re-grow...Its also illegal to house dead coral in certain countries i believe....only something that i heard though..

If you like the look of coral skeletons, may I suggest coral replicas? There are some pretty realistic ones out there and look and feel just like the real thing. Plus they are a bit more durable (less likely to break).
