Some sad news..

well, as many of you know..my grandfather has been in bad health for some time now..

this morning at around 11:30, his crippling pain, and suffering ended.

he had been battling this cancer for 5 years, and in my my faith..he won this battle, as he gets to be in heaven with the lord, and his mother who he holds dearly to his heart..as well as his old war buddies who where killed in world war 2.

i will mourn the loss of him, but i will be strong for him..as i know where he is, and i know he is no longer suffering. i'm happy that this did not come as a shock..and that we live just across the street, and could see him at anytime we wanted.

he was a warrior is many ways, and he will never be forgotten

May he rest in peace with the Lord. I am glad to see that the suffering is over. My father died of cancer as well, but about 10 years ago, so I know it's a hard way to see someone go. I pray for comfort and peace of mind for your family because even knowing he will be in heaven and you'll see him again, you will still miss him. *hugs*

Sorry for your loss mate. My Grandmother is currently battling against oesophegal cancer. This is such a retched disease and my heart goes out to you and your family. We are doing a fundraiser for MacMillan nurses here in the UK. They offer support, both personal and financial to Cancer patients and their families. They do an amazing job, and if anyone would like to support us, please mail me. Love the pic though, just looking at it, I think we can get an idea of what kind of man he was.

My thoughts go out to you and your family. He's in a better place now and finally free from pain. How nice that you lived so close and got to spend time with him, you were there for him.

Once a week I travel to visit my Grandfather who is 85 and also struggling. He has cancer and can't lay down due to congestive heart failure. He is also a WWII veteran and a real character, let me tell you lol.

I know you miss him, King. Your grand father lived a long life and his suffering is over now.
I lost my Granddaddy over a year ago. I was in the hospital room with him and watched him pass. I know how you feel and I'm sorry for your loss.

I am sorry too. I had lost my great-grandad to skin cancer, my great-grandma has it, and so does my grand-dad, so i know what it feel like to lose some one you love greatly. I hope his memory will be treasured forever... my best wishes.

We all come and go at some time along our journey of life, it's the pain of the loss we have to deal with . Hang in there.
I heard the other day that we are loosing 1000 war vets every day :(

Sorry to hear about your loss King, I know it is hard..but it is even harder watching the pain and suffering of those with cancer can go through. I had the same with my Grandpa also, he too was a WWII vet. Hey maybe they are up there looking down on us now together. The hardest for me was watching a very lively, proud and active man become so helpless. The ending of the suffering is a good thing and knowing they moved on to a better place definatly helps.
Stay strong and be there for other family members that need you..which I'm sure you will be, you seem to be a wonderful person. As others have said, if you do need anything, warm words or thoughts or anything just let us know..and my PM is always open!
