so i've been helping some friends set up 2 tanks.. a 30 gallon for one goldfish, and a 55 gallon for some african cichlids. well the cichlid tank was done cycling monday so they got fish that night. everything went well.
now, 3 days later, they have already found a 125 gallon for a great price and they're picking it up tomorrow and we'll start cycling it tomorrow night.
that's right. MTS strikes in less than 3 days. lol
anyway the plan is that the cichlids will go in the 125, so i told her i would post here the list of what they have and what they want, and get some advice as far as the ratios go.
this is what they have now in the 55. (overfiltered)
3 labidochromis caeruleus
1 red peacock
2 melanchromis auratus (both still yellow, so not sure of gender yet)
3 kenyi (1 small purple, one turning yellow, one already yellow.. so that's at least 2 males, right?)
1 bumblebee cichlid (not sure of gender yet)
2 acei (both pretty colorful, so possibly males)
3 red zebra cichlids
they want an ahli, and more peacocks
so what should they get more of? i know the yellow labs would do better with a larger group. anybody else do better in groups?
