I was visiting the LFS where I get my frozen food(freshest since they have a high turnover)
I also check their cichlid rows(they get local fish from local breeders and I'm looking for some Blue Rams)
I walked buy the normal angel tank and next to it they had a seperate angel tank with 1 angel..:eek3: I have raised angels for years but

this is a LARGE Angel..the body(sans fins) was easily larger than my hand.
I've seen protruded forheads (my males have slight bumps) but this one had a head like a Flowerhorn.

OMG:jaw: :omg: if the fins hadnot been damaged by being in a tank that was too small(not the fault of the LFS as they took this fish in) this angel would have easily hit 12" and it was not an Altum.

it was about 7-8" long and would have been 12" tall.
it made the 18" tal tank look too short.

it was not a veil. the ventrals were broken off

Must have been all the steroids in the water in the tank. Was he owned by a baseball player??

Star rider, aren't you going to get him and raise him by yourself?:) I know it'll be better off with you than the lfs.;)

check out the angel section on aqualandpetsplus.com. they have pictures of some 15 yr. old angels that are exactly like what you are describing. actually, i'll just post the pic here. the description says they are "saucer-sized".

you have to see them to appreciate the size..but yes saucer would be a good description.
