I have a 50 gallon community tank which currently has no catfish. I have a couple otos for algea control and would like some other catfish. I have not been have any luck with cories so would anyone be able to suggest a catfish for my tank beside cories?

Personally i would recommend a clown pleco. L104. Mine is funny to watch. and unlike my gold nugget plec an blizzard cactus plec who are shy Ringo the clown plec is not shy and is always out during daytime.

What are the current community inhabitants? There are quite a few plecos that you could add. Plecos (most) or SAEs will compete with the Otos for food. Cories are always a great addition and great bottom cleaners IMO!

Currently i have an anglefish 14 rummynoses and 2 swordtails. would a pleco get to big?

How big of a tank? Sounds like a cool stocking (I love rummies)! Some plecos get HUGE (2 feet plus!), but others stay fairly small (less than 6"). If you get one, just be sure of which kind you're getting. With that stocking, assuming the tank has the capacity, a group of 6-8 Cories would be awesome. They add life to the bottom and do some cleanup too. Plus they're just cool fish!

Just looked again and must say... der! Sorry 50G. You definitely have room for Cories and maybe even a dwarf pleco in addition to them. I'd personally go for 6-8 cories of your choice and then decide if you want to add a pleco. Research the plecos and make sure that they don't out-compete the Otos for food.
