Hello. I'm new to saltwater, but learn quick. I've had freahwater for years now and said it's time that I made the jump. So I've got a 30gal oceanic with 29lbs of Caribbean live rock and 20lbs of ocean dierct caribbean live sand inside the tank with 2 peppermint shrimp. The peppermint shrimp i just put in and the tank has been running for 2 weeks now. I had what looked like an aiptasia, only 1 that was coming out of a hole in the live rock. I was told to shoot him with some calcium and put the shrimp in to take care of what was left. I shot him with the calcium and it retracted but came back out bout an hour later looking like it had been through war. Its little tentacles looked like they melted or shriveled. Well thats my story for now. Hope it works as I have read and been told by my LFS that they will over take my tank. Do I still need to do more?
HELP!!!!!!!:1zhelp:

Hi there and Welcome to Aquaria Central..

The aiptasia will grow back pretty quickly if you did not completly kill it..A more safer option is a by using a syringe and fill it with boiling water, get as close to the nem as possible and blast it with the boiling water..you can do this as many times as you like untill the nem is melted away with out risk of anthing effecting your water parameters...

A little concerned that you have sensitive invertibrates in there after only 2 weeks, i hope they do well and good luck with the aiptasia battle.

Your best of posting marine related questions in the marine forums as you will get far more answers than in here...

Hope that helps
