I just purchased a 15 gal used tank that came with a penguin 150. I want to use this in my 30 gallon since the current filter is actually rated for a tank just a little under 30 gals. I plan to use the other filter for my 15 gallon. Yesterday I cleaned out the 15 gal tank and have water in it now.
My question is how long should I leave the Penguin running in the 30 gal tank before I can move the other filter over to the 15 gallon tank and start the cycle process? I want to make sure that the Penguin has enough time to develop cultures in it. I do have an under gravel filter running in the 30 gallon right now as well.
