I have an amano shrimp that's been carrying what I assume are eggs or larvae; a mass of dark gray something in her swimmerettes, just the same way a ghost shrimp carries. She's been doing this for at least 5 days now, if not a week, and I'm wondering if she'll release them at some point and they'll simply die without brackish water, or if she's going to keep holding until she finds brackish water? I'm not too concerned with trying to raise them, but if I need to give her some salt so she can release the young, I'll try to figure something out.

They will hatch in the freshwater. In the wild they hatch in fresh water and float downstream until they get to brackish. Yeah the eggs are dark grey they get more see through as they come close to hatching, takes about three weeks for them to hatch.
