How long do CFLs last (1yr? for planted)

I have (4) 22" bulbs on my 75g. I rather not replace them for $100 a year. Is this required.
 
you can just let them go until the die for the most part. they aren't like normal fluorescent lights.
 
I use AH Supply- bear in mind they have to charge sales tax to any buyers in NY.
 
Over time a compact flourescents output will lower. keep in mind the change in output is minimal. Unless u need every lumen you can get

It is only recommended to change them every year to maintain a maximum output. As long as you dont require the maximum output i would say switching every year is redundant and costly.

also 100 for a bulb is rediculous...
