It's 4am , and I just went downstairs past my tnak to find my angelfish exibiting some odd behavior. at this hour they would usually be stationary in the tank. But i went down there to find them floating backwards and suddenly darting around. they are bumping into eachother and seem to be breahting heavily. all the other fish in the tank seem fine and are acting normally. tomorrow if they are still doing it im going to take a video. i did my 10% water change as usual today and everything was fine.

If the tank was in dark they were sleeping/resting. (I do not know if they really sleep like we do.) The sudden lighting startles them. Outside of bruises from the rapid chaotic lotion, they should be normal shortly.

BTW, it's nice to see someone else has a tnak. My typing is not so perfect either.

I agree with Charlie, you startled and blinded them with the light. So they panic and flee. You have to be careful with bigger fish, they can kill themselves blindly fleeing into the glass in a panic.

:iagree:

Mine do the same thing if I turn the lights on iun the middle of the night suddenly. They are definately scared for a few seconds.
