so i'm planning on graduating in december with a bachelor's degree in economics.

last week i had a phone interview with a company i'm interested in.
today i got a phone call from the same company saying they wanted a face-to-face interview... so i was really excited to have a follow-up!

then an hour later, her secretary called me to tell me that they dont think the position is right for me right now, but they'll keep me in mind in the future.

so i asked her about my newly scheduled interview, and she knew nothing about it. so apparently its cancelled.

then she called back to say that there's another position that i could be great for, and THAT is what my interview will be for.

talk about an emotional roller coaster.
jeez.

getting a job is a full time job...

100 applications = 10 interiews = 1 job offer

you want choice to get a job you will be happy with, therefore you want 3 or 4 to choose from, thats over 300 applications...

the harsh reality is that you hav to take the knocks and there will be lots of them...and do the graft

what kind of position are you looking for, and what is the one you're interviewing for? Just out of curiosity...

i'm really quite flexible as far as the position. i really just want a stable job that i can pay bills with. i'd be fine just doing IT type stuff, even though my degree is in more of a financial focus. the job i originally applied for was a financial advising position for a life insurance company. the new interview is a "staff position" whatever that means. the interview is on the 2nd.
even if it's not what i want, the interview experience can't hurt.
