Hi,
I have some lovely syno euptras.. They rip my bog oak apart all day long.. I dont mind this , but can i feed them anything else.. The other fish seem to mop up all the pellets and discs i drop in, even after lights out..

They are well fed judging by their bulging bellies but i would like to give them something the other fish might not eat..
I appreciate any help or advice..
regards,
Denis

I feed my syno euppies mostly peas and frozen bloodworms lately when I was over at the parents' house feeding them.
They go crazy for the frozen bloodworms.
Also feed them freeze dried tubiflex worms, krill and freeze dried bloodworms. My parents usually feed them the dried foods when I'm not there. Mine have gotten skinny before and I've had to special feed them..Not sure if it's because the cichlids ate food away from them or they didn't get fed enough when I wasn't around.

Besides your topic:
Mind if I ask how many and what your setup is like?.
Are they babies or adults?...They get aprox. ten inches.
Do yours "dance"?...like when they quiver and sway side by side with their fins erect and mouth open?. Today I saw two of mine locking together and twirl briefly...It wasn't spawning because I didn't see any eggs...dunno what they were doing.

Had them in a 240 rio, now in a 3foot tank with lots of driftwood, i have two of them and tehy get on fine, they are in with cories and firemouths, all young fish bar the cories which are big. Synos are lovely creatures, What do u have in the tank with the synos..

Mine dig in to New Life Spectrum. It is the only thing that tank gets. I feed them in a bowl and they come rushing over as soon as the feeding tube (UGF riser tube with funnel on top) goes in the water, along with the discus, silver dollars, plecos, bichirs, and especially the tiretrack eel.

THey'll eat anything, really. If you're having trouble getting the food to them, place it in a discrete spot, like under a driftwood overhang or in a pvc tube.
