So I've had my Cherry Shrimp tank going for about 2 months now... They dont seem to be reproducing though... Also, a few of them haven't had their color come in yet. They have molted but still are clear/white in color. One more thing, does anyone know the chararistics of a shrimp when it molts? Do they appear to be dead?

Thanks.

i thought that the males are clearish and the females are the bright red? I don't know the molting characteristics but am sure someone else will chime in soon.
I think www.petshrimp.com has some good info.

How large are they? They may take awhile to color up and the females are definitely darker red, the males tend to stay whitish even when fully grown. If you have all males, that may explain both issues. When they molt, the shell they leave behind can appear to be a dead shrimp, but I haven't really noticed any sort of lethargy from the shrimps themselves during or after. Don't worry about removing the castaway shell, mine always seem to eat them.
