So I have this single angel in my 29g with 6 cories and 12 cardinals... it seems that it's always against the glass swimming up and down trying to swim "through" the glass...

It is never actually in the middle of the aquarium. Is this normal.. or is my angel just a little bit dumb...

lots of fish do this.
sometimes it means they need a bigger tank.
sometimes it means they're bored.

it depends on what is on the other side of the glass..it may actually be seeing it's own reflection.
or it sees open space.
I have breeding tanks close and the males will try and attck other males thru the glass..when this happens I place a screen between the tanks.
angels tend to hover..if you have structure in the tank they tend to stay near the structure.

they will also hide in the cover if you have tall plants.

I have a couple of fish that do it in one certain corner. Two reasons I think 1. thats the area I feed them and 2. They can see the TV there. My fish are hungry couch potatoes.

He needs a buddy. Buy him a buddy or two and he wont be bored

angels are a fish that do not need buddies.

as a matter of fact adding buddies may do quite the opposite of the desired effect..angels , especially dominant males..may not tolerate other angels well

if the angel is young you can try getting more..remember this is only a 29 and 2 is the max I would place in this tank.

you could add a third and be ready to move fish if there turns out to be aggression issues..particulalry if there is a pair in the tank.

Sorry , i should of asked what size the angel was.. Yes , i agree angels can be a bit nasty to each other.. All the angels i have kept have been in groups of 2 or more.. They always got on fine until they paired.. I dont like seeing angles on their own.. But if u have not got the room.. What size is the angela nd how long have to got it..
