The winner of the October 2007 Freshwater Picture of the Month is
Martin Thoene (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/member.php?u=72108)

Specifics of the photograph and tank

The picture was taken literally 30 seconds after emptying this guy out of his Walmart bag into the planted and well established 16" cube tank. It happens to have Mylar film on the back which I totally forgot about so he flared straight away.
There are no other residents.

Camera is a Canon A640, 10.1 Mp. It was set on Macro in Tv mode at 1/2500 sec, flash on, exposure compensation at -1.5, spot metering and the camera was set on 'Vivid" for colour. Canons have excellent colour rendition anyway IMO. Picture is slightly cropped from the full size picture.

The funny thing is I've never yet managed to get a better picture of him and his points have grown even more.

Beautiful. :omg:
Did you put a mirror up against the tank to get him to flare like that?

Oh Wow! Thanks! I've been somwhat busy this month with one thing and another. New car (to me) new girlfriend and hopefully soon a new job :)

I just discovered the PM from Niko asking for details on the fish, tank setup and other residents. I'm terrible at picking up PM's Niko.

This will be short(ish).
