I buy a few black tetra's the other day. I look in the tank today and I notice one of my shrimp sticking out of the mouth of a tetra. I thought they didn't eat shrimp? How come I'm always finding these things out the hard way.

dont know if this is any help but all tetra have teeth albeit very small, apart from one of the larger tetra, PIRHANA which has very large teeth.

There was a recent thread about tetras eating other smaller fish. Liike you all say, these guys have more teeth than one would think and I've been told that a large school of them can kill larger fish if they get hungry enough.

So in other words, it's good motivation to keep my fish fed. :p

Yes! I guess you could say that. Though the article I read talked about tetras in the wild. Family of the Piranha they are! Munch munch.
