I have had this Singapore Angel for over a month and he/she has yet to eat.
The Angel had been at my LFS for 3-4 weeks in a tank by itself and they said it had not eaten and was most likely a lost cause. I took it home anyways because I was hoping to beat the odds. In the first few weeks, there were 2 clowns and a Bi-Color as tankmates. There was never any agression or chasing or even any sour looks from the Bi-Color or the Clowns towards the Singapore.
I have had fish in the past that were very scared and shy but this Singapore is neither. It is not afraid of any other fish and not afraid of me. It doesn't hide behind the rock. The only way to describe it is it seems extremely depressed.
I have placed every type of food I can think of right next to it, some soaked in Selcon or Garlic Gaurd and some not. Frozen Mysid, Brine, Marine Cuisine, Angel Formula, Formula 1-2 pellet, Nori. I saw it nip at the rocks a couple times but that's all.
It was skinny when I got it and now is just very very thin.
I would love to try some live brine or mysid but my 3 LFS's seem to think that live foods are a luxury and are not needed as they do not sell any and seem to not use themselves.
I have fed with the frozen Mysid and brine in totally calm water, slight movement and turbulent water trying to give the appearance of live food but no luck.
A few days ago, I pulled him from the main tank and into the refugium. He was never out-competed for food, just never showed any interest. I am hoping he might be interested in the myriad of copepods in the refugium and am also still giving him the Angel formula frozen cubes but can't tell if he has eaten either.
He swims out in the open and seems to act normally otherwise.
