overwhelmed fish

i put my 2- 2" jewel cichlids in a 125 tank with some angry fish. they were left alone but just couldnt seem to get comfortable. the slightly smaller one just sat in a corner staring at the glass.. i pulled her [just guessing] out, and put her in the quarantine tank and shes active and eating like a pig again.

can fish be paralyzed by fear?

My fish (juvenile severum) did the same. She was so scared that she just tried not to move, afraid to be discovered.
