Cory Cat eggs, (pics)

well i think these are cory cat eggs, they are all over the glass in my tank, probly 100 or so, what should i do to kepp them alive, take them of the glass and put them in a tubawera bowl in te top of the tank to keep it worm, how do i remove the eggs? here are the pics,

The eggs should harden within a few minutes. After that, carefully scrape them off the glass with a plastic card or razor. Keeping them fungus free is very difficult, so if you're going to put them in a container without water movement, go ahead and treat the water. You might leave half of them in place and see which group does better.

thanks malefic23, that helps, what will happen if i just leav them in the tank, will they survive on algea or get eaten? i really dont need them couse i only have 1 big enuf tank for them and that is my 29 gallon and it already has 5 adsults in it,

my guess is that the rams will find them and eat them if they stay in the tank.. i'm trying to think of a way that you could put up a barrier so the rams can't get to them.. but i dont know.

perfect timing, my cories also spawned. these are in a 50. i also just took possession of a 38, and was thinking of moving fish from a 12->38, and i guess that would free up the 12-- but even that seems overkill. i may go pop out (is this a pun when we're talking about egglayers?) and grab one of those little 1-2 gallon tanks, and a sponge filter (and heater, **** this is starting to add up) for them.

is that reasonable? first time breeder! that is, of fish. i have two children.

hmm. most of my eggs are fungusy; those are the ones i removed from my tank and put into a 2nd tank. the ones i left in got eaten.

no baby cats this time around, i guess!

I saved some eggs and put them into a breeder trap and they've hatched. In the process of collecting the eggs some dropped to the bottom. My fry are 4 days old today and I just noticed one in the tank. I tried to suck it up with a pipette but it was too quick for me. I've got slate in the tank which I've sort of piled up to make hiding spots (caves) for the cories. The pieces which are lying on the gravel make perfect hiding spots for fry. This little guy is hiding under one now. He looks very healthy so I guess he's getting the food which is cleaned out of the breeder trap. I'm wondering if there's more hiding in there now.

So, if you've got hiding spots in your tank which the other fish can't get to, you may get one lucky survivor. I once had a diamond tetra baby survive in my 55 gallon planted tank. I'm still amazed by that. It was the healthiest of the group of tetras and survived to adulthood.

Cory fry do not get eaten by other fish. They have an armored shell, and are protected that way. Maybe some bigger fish may indulge. I can't say. My fry survive and thrive in my canister filter. I guess they get sucked up and in, but some of them make it. If you have a filter that hangs on the tank you need to wrap the intake filter in the water with mesh so the fry don't get into the filter and die. If your tank has been running for a long time, there are enough nutrients in the tank for them, but you need to feed them fry drops, though I never do and mine survive. I feed my cories frozen daphnia among other things.

I must disagree, up too a point. My tetras (black neon, glowlight) are quite happy to eat any panda cory fry they see, until the fry are about 6 weeks old, about 1/4" long. After they're big enough I can put them in the main tank, before then they definitely get munched.
