I have a whisper internal power filter in my 2.5 gallon tank. It is a quiet filter, however, I am wondering whether the vibration and noise within the tank itself is bothersome to my betta?

no. HOB filters are well insulated against noise nowadays, and if there is enough vibration/resonance coming from it to bother the fish, then it's time to replace the impeller, which is more than likely cracked or chipped, causing it to spin out of balance, and thus, creating excessive vibration/resonance.

further, if the impeller was damaged to the point of being severely out of balance, you would hear it before the fish would be bothered by it.

It isn't noisy at all, but if I put my ear up to the side of the glass it sounds much louder internally to the tank. The fish is acting perfectly fine and seems happy. I am mainly just curious b/c that type of constant high frequency vibration and hum would bother me. Again, to our human ears outside of the tank, it is very quiet, but inside the tank full of water, I think it might be much louder.
