don't use boiling water to clean it! I thought I had done this before with no problems, but this time around, didn't work out in my favor!

it does. I think I may still be able to use it... but probably won't. I actually had a clean one ready to swap from another tank that I stopped using co2 in... so it's not a big deal, but vinegar would have done the trick if I hadn't felt like rushing it.
yeah if nothing else, if it doesn't work any more, call it modern art, put a little string to hang it up, and auction it off on ebay for $5000 lol

Man, wow. Like, that is a warning. Thanks. I just use warm water and a Q-tip, but now I know that if it's ever really dirty, do not use boiling water.

yeah, thing is I thought I had cleaned it that way once before... maybe the water wasn't as hot. I didn't even put it in a pan, i poured the boiling water over the ladder in a deli container... and let it sit for a few minutes... returned to the Gaudi version above. the thing was filthy, I was hoping to loosen all the algae on it.
Bleach is my friend. I've not once considered boiling anything from my tanks. Bleach, dechlorinate, done.
