I would like to mount a 5g tank at eye level in my utility room but i
don't know if it would be to heavy for a shelf or brackets.
Anyone have any idea on how to go about this, or is it to dodgy.
I checked the diy forums but there was nothing on shelving or brackets. Cheers.

Its a box of water that'll weigh somewhere between 40 and 50 lbs.
I've seen bracket systems that'll hold a good bit more than that. You'll want to look for something that's rated for a bare minimum of 50 lbs -- personally I'd double it… a little too much shelf being better than a little too little.
Test it out first with a box of books or a bag of concrete or salt or some such thing.

A good header would have been "eye-level aquarium?" You may miss helpful pointers because people didn't open the mystery thread.

Before i read the question, I was kind of tempted to mischeivously write "Yes" or "No" and leave it at that.
People do help when they can (and the WetFeller more than most) (a lot more)…
The vague header bit is a recurring issue. A little detail never hurts and makes it easier for the folks who are trying to help to find you.
