I know the serpae are nippers. But i really want them, i saw some at my local LFS today. And i want to pick them up this weekend, so guys is this ok serpae and parrot fish.

What type of parrot are you talking about because there are quite a few different species? The most common one you can find, well around my area anyway are blood parrots and they should be housed in at least a 50 gal tank. I personally would not put them with serpae tetras.

He already mentioned 'blood parrots' in his post.

Revelino, no, you can't put even one in a 30 gallons along with tetras. Parrots are quite unpredictable in terms of how they behave and may unexpectedly turn and harass their tankmates. Stick with apistogrammas, ancistrus plecs and other tetras (not long-finned species if you still want serpaes).

blood parrots get fairly large, 8-10 inches long, which would be to big for a 30 gallon. if you had a 55 gallon though, you could have two. still, some can get very aggressive and may command the space of an entire 55 gallon tank.
