I'm looking for a light for my 75 gallon, i saw a few on ebay that are 48" and 260 watts, i dont need that much wattage, but i do need that size, or do i? can i use a light that is small then my tank? like a 36" one? ive been looking on aquariumguys.com too and they have a large selection, i like the current sattelite which is 48" and 260 watts because it also has the built in lunar lights, anyone have any suggestions, i wouldnt mind using a light of like 36" as long as it would work what do you guys think?

true, i found a 48" current usa sattelite on fish.com that has 2x65 watt lights as well as 2 lunar lights, will the 48" light fit atop my 48" tank? does anyone have experience with this? this light would give me approx 1.73 watt per gallon...

There are a number of possibilities. I have 3 2 bulb 48" shoplights over my 75 and am getting great growth.

Many on here recommend ahsupply.com I may go to them eventually as the primary problem with shoplights is they aren't meant for use with water and have the tendency for their ballasts to go out. Plus, the light reflection isn't necessarily the greatest. But it works for me and is very inexpensive.
