Green Star polyps went MIA?

Its been like 2 weeks that my green star polyps have not come out :( but the frags that I did from that rock are doing fine :shakehead: I have a banana coris wrasse that sleeps right in the substrate beside the green star polyp could the sand that gets on it sometimes have stress them out? I had the wrasse for about 3 months and its been sleeping in the same spot from the start why would it effect them now?

Thank you any info would be greatly taken :)

well they can do this i get it with some brown one`s of mine & all the other star polyps within the tank are 100% fine & i have 5 differant colonys sooo i dunno why but every two months are soooooo my brown star polyps all go in & yeah it can be a day or even three weeks BUT i`ve learned a trick to get them out very easy is to get a power head off your glass & then blast the colony closely & for around two min`s & during the next 24hours they should start to re appear a little smaller but the soon kick back to there selfs...... if they don`t come out within 24hours keep blasting them every day till they start coming back but its always worked for me first time just to give them a good blast cleans all the crap out of them......
 
I was thinking of moving them but I just like them where they are now :( don't have any power heads in my setup but they get good flow.

I have a 29g tall tank what kind of powerhead you think I should get? do I need one?

I'd probably just skip the #1s and go with #2s or MJ1200s. I tried 2 #1s and they really didn't have NEARLY the flow I wanted, and certainly not the 800 gph they promised, 'wide sweep' or not.

You say you have 'plenty of flow' without powerheads. What are you using right now?

Honestly I did not think that kind of flow was that important, this it my setup:

Eclipse 3 system
29g Tall tank
31# of live rock
2-2.5" thickness of subtrate(sand)
2clown fish
1electric damsel
1domino damsel
1pearl angel fish
1yellow coris wrasse
2 cleaner shrimp
8hermit crabs
Sun coral
Mushrooms
Green star polyp
and a chilli coral oh and little red starfish.

Tried posting pics but photebucket in not available @ the moment.
 
in marine setups you need at least the volume of your tank turning over 10 times per an hour & even more so with corals & star polyps love flow they spread SO fast with it & look so much better as they extend & star polyps do sulk more without flow.......

29 gallon = 130ltrs so you want at least 1300ltrs of water per an hour i like maxi jet power heads so i`d get 2 maxijet 600`s which turn over 660 ltrs per an hour one each side directed carefully should soon bring your tank back up & running......
