Cool!!! One of the best fish IMO!!!:clap:
It's just a shame the eggs were not fertile. He updated everything in Loaches Online and Kamphol was right to point out the disturbance which prevented fertilization from taking place.:shakehead:

I had a hard time believe the pH was as low as what he said. That's extremely acidic.

Nolapete, I've always known Scotland with water that soft but that was the reason why clown loaches could have spawned. They originated in extremely soft and acidic to neutral waters.

some of you may recall that i returned to the hobby from a 20 year break...i always remeber from way back then that in scotland we always had better success with some species such as clown loaches because of the water
my tap water has a pH of 7.2 (which is a little high round here, typically around 6.8) and kH and dH less than 40ppm, i thinks thats less than 4 dH
