Hi,

I posted this question within my original question and realized it might not get any responses unless I make a new posting.

I am on day 5.5 of new tank cycle and my ammonia test is over 6, so I am going to halt ammonia until it drops a bit to 4-5. My question is, is it best to use my aeration (air pump connected to my aeration ring that makes the tank bubbles) during the cycling? Should I have it on and off/low bubbles/high bubbles/no bubbles, etc?

Thank you so much! :help:

I don't really think it will make any difference as there aren't any creatures living in your tank that need oxygen exchange.

I would keep the airpump on.

what kind of filter do you have?

many tanks dont need air pumps even with fish....

bacteria still need o2.
