View Full Version : i saw giant angle cichlids last night!

they at least looked like them. last night i went trick-or-treating and like this one lady had a freaking giant fish tank with 3 of the largest fish i have ever seen in an aquarium. they were bigger than these giant oscars at this one dentist office. but ya! i never knew angle cichlids could get that big! they were at least 1.5 times the size of a normal adult head! probably bigger!

Estimated length? Star_rider also saw one she believed can have the potential to reach 12 inches.

lol you better go back with a ruler..... how far away. i am sure thats fins and all.

I thought that angles maxed out at 30cm (12") from tip to toe...
Go back and try to get pics :)
Wikipedia (couldn't get a better source) says that altums can reach up to 50cm....

Debbi..hold on...yup they are still there..;)
mgamer the one I saw had damaged fins..missing 1/3 of the dorsal and anal fin and this bugger would easily have been 12" tall(including fins) the body was larger than my hand easily 5-6" tall no fins
