HELP...White slime

that is a tough one.. there are any number of ailments that can cause this.does it look like the fish is sluffing off his slime coat?

I have an angel that had what appeared to be fungus(white slime) turned out it was rthe slime coat sluffing off.

oddly there was some slight response to antibacterial meds.. I dosed for 14 days the fish appeared to get better then the problem came back
water quality was not the issue as this tank gets a minimum of 2 40% water changes weekly and the only inhabitants is a pair of wild scalare(peru)
only one fish was infected.
I used pimafix/melafix..also noted slight improvement.

but the fish could not fight off the problem.

I finally found info regarding protozoa that had Sx that appears like fungus.(caused fish slime to sluff off.

I treated with victoria green,acriflavin(jungle ich guard) the fish has since been steadily improving. turns out some fish are natrually immune to some issues.
I'm not sure what your fish has..but keep in H tank and keep water clean

Back in the spring of this year I had a cross-contamination issue with imported fish and domestic fish and part of the symptoms were extreme slime coat sloughing. Using an assortment of meds, I did notice that acriflavine seemed to improve the situation. If your fish is sloughing off excess mucus/slime coat you'll have to be vigilent with daily bigwater changes in the QT tank and redosing meds replacing what you lost in the water change.

I am not a big advocate on using salt..but in some cases.. it is a good alternative to meds.
