Crab ID please, hes striping my liverock

it might be a black emerald crab, and from what I understand, they are not reef safe.

Not sure what it is, but I found a lead for you. Check out the AC Hitchhiker thread, there is a picture of a crab there that looks very similar to yours, if that is the case then you may want to get rid of it, someone posted on that thread that it was eating their Leather Coral

There is a stargate in my aquarium.
That thing is awesome looking. I love crabs. I got a spot for it in my refugium if your getting rid of it. =)
It is just a black Mithrax crab, not heard anything that would say its different to the green variety...

i would not put a mithrax in a fish only system as its basic food source comes from live rock, unless you have plenty of live rock and hiding places in the fish only system of course..
