I am planning on keeping an eel. Right now I have a clownfish and a shrimp goby. My plan for them is to be movied to a ten gallong out of the tank fuge that will share water with the main 55 gallon. The major question I have is bioload. Will the system I am imagining be to small to keep a full grown snowflake eel, plus an extra 7 inches of fish? Also how would I properly secure the top?

I'd personally want a 75g for one, but some get away with a 55g as the absolute minimum. What kind of fish were you wanting to stock with the eel? Small ones would be at risk.

No 55 with a ten gallon attached as a refugium. The fish I have now would be eaten by and eel withing an our or two. That is why they would get the fuge.

I'd personally want the 75g minimum as I said before. Thye can get almost 3 feet long and it seems cruel to put them in a 4' tank.
