Well even tho being told this is not a great idea. I have finally talked my wife into letting me try a saltwater tank in the basement. It was origanally going to be fresh but she and my daughter would like some fish from the finding nemo movie:shakehead:. Anyway i have a 29g and for the filer i have a aqua clean 50. So my question is will this do and what else will i need. If anyone could tell me the brands and model numbers that would help alot as well. Thank you very much in advance.

I would like it to be fish and live rock, So it looks like the filter i got is o.k. but i will need a powerhead and lighting and heater+thermostat. Will the regular light and hood be ok (i thing incondescent)or will i need something different???

Normal lighting and hood will do just fine in my opinion as the lighting is really only there for your viewing pleasure...

Thanks, I was not sure if the live rock need a certian light or something. Do i use live sand or just sand? BTW If im asking stupid questions please forgive me, I just don't know where to begin.

If you have live rock you won't need the live sand. It will become live enough after awhile. My understanding is that if you have enough live rock (1-2lbs/gallon) you don't even need a filter....
Welcome, btw. There are a lot of really nice, helpful, knowledgeable people here that will be a huge help.

O.K. I got the tank today. What kind of sand do i use for it. And who makes a good heater? I just want to get most of the stuff together so when im ready togo its easier on the wallet.

Looks like the 29g is going back looks like it may be a little small for the yellow tang i would like. So the shop is gining me a 40g for $10.00 more:thumbsup:
