I saw this somewhere else too. I don't know how I feel about it. I am pretty liberal when it comes to most subjects. And while I'm by far a vegitarian, I do have concern for animals and animal rights.
On one hand experimentation on animals is necessary to learn about biology and science. On the other hand no one needs a glowing pet fish. But after working in a fish store for a while I can see where people that just go out and buy fish because they look pretty, and not knowing anything about there care and upkeep, would like something like this. So from the pet economic stand point it could be a good thing. With increased interest in the fish market, it could lead to other aquatic innovations, like people spending more time learning how to breed certain types of fish that don't currently breed in captivity, reducing the stress on natural resources. From an ecological stand point, no one knows yet. Something like this could lead to a catastrophe, possibly.
Either way you won't see me buying one of these.
