when i look through my water up at the surface there are tiny white specs that cover the surface area of my tank. I have taken a paper towel and skimmed the surface also taken a cup and skimmed the surface but it always come back is this normal? Does everyone see this when you look through up to the surface?

it would help if you told us your specs...

tank size
ph reading
nitrate/nitrites
ammonia

and what fish you have in there.....this will make it easier for the experts......not me....lol.....thanks:)

What would help is a picture or a better description. I have never seen anything like that myself. More details please.

Sorry those are the only details I can tell you. You just look through the water up at the surface and see small specs very tiny particles. Light has to be on so you can see them. Otherwise everything looks normal. I wish I had a pic but I don't have a camera. Everything is pretty much normal at least I think they are. These are my last test results.

ph level 7.4 - 7.6
high range ph test 8.0
ammonia 0 ppm
nitrite 0 ppm
gh (general Hardness) 100-200 ppm
kh carbonate hardness (200-400 ppm)
nitrate level 40 ppm

I always have tiny white particles in my water when I look closely. It's nothing bad, don't worry about it.
