Hi I recently moved my oranda (Willis) from a 3gallon to a 10 gallon and added a baby lionhead (Dillon) friend for him. They got to know each other through the bags while they were acclimating, and seemed to be fine when they were let out.

I have a few questions:

1) Willis and Dillon seem to nudge and bump into each other purposefully. When Dillon is scavenging for food, Willis will come and nudge his butt or face. Dillon will also nudge back and they will end up 'pushing' each other around for a bit. Is this territorial? They don't seem to like each other =x

2) I am using a Whisper 30 filter with the dial turned halfway so the current is not as strong. I am wondering if the current is still too strong, or how I can tell? They are still little guys but they seem to swim well - however they don't frequent that part of the tank very much so I'm wondering.

- I've included a picture of them in their tank so you guys can see =]

- btw - i'm aware that 10 gallons is too small for their adult size - during xmas break I will be moving them to a bigger tank ^^

Willis and Dillon should be fine together.... fancies are some of the nicest species I've ever seen towards each other. They're most likely just getting in each other's way on the search for some food. I would turn the filter up as high as it will go because goldfish are so messy and will need good filtration. Just keep an eye on them, the current shouldn't be too strong but if Dillon is say weak from the pet store, then that might affect them. Also, if you didn't quarantine Dillon before putting him in the tank, keep an eye on your fish, goldfish carry so many diseases out of the petstore, it would be a shame to infect a healthy fish. Good luck, and as soon as you upgrade, you'll start to see your little babies grow tons! They are really pretty fish!
