I'm just wondering what your experience is. I keep admiring the fish we have at work and being more & more drawn to them. I'm just curious if I could get ONE fish and put into my 28 gallon tall tank. I'd move the tetras out. But I want to keep the cories in there, so if they'd be in danger, I will wait for now.

Thanks!

The clown loach will need a few firends and a MUCH bigger tank...

As for the question, practically all dwarf cichlids do well with Corys. The only issue I have sen was a result of over stocking and the cichlids being aggressive due to lack of adequate territory in the tank

no to Discus but not quite so fast on the no for angels.

angels do not need to be kept in groups and will do quit well as a single.

in that case you probably could put 1 single angel in a 28(depends on the dimensions oof the tank.) also if you foudn Leopoldi angels you could probably put a pair of them in a 28. they are the smallest species of angel and do not get nearly as large as Scalare or Altums..

keyholes , rams and apistos are fine. but you need to be wary of territorial issues with rams and apistos.

I know. He's only about 1.5" right now though and we have plans to get a BIG tank either for christmas or post tax refund. I can't WAIT!

I don't care for Angels. I do like Rams. I'll probably just wait till I get the big tank though. And most likely I'll stick with community fish, but I was just curious if I could have ONE cool fish to put in the 28. Oh well, no biggie.

ETA: the tank is 30" wide, 18" tall and 12" front to back.

SWEET! Now if I can only find one somewhere around here!
