today i got to work to find a blue acara laying dry and crispy on the floor but still breathing she is very messed up and if she survives the night cant suggestion on some treatment and care TLC.i got some stress coat in their now to protect her but as a long term basis i dont think it will work. i might add some melafix or some stress zyme which is ment to be different to stress coat.

Stress zyme isn't supposed to cure fish, or at least not to my knowledge. All it is "supposed" to do is add nitrifying bacteria to the water.

It's usually too late for the fish when they jump out of my tanks. I've only found one that was still alive. An albino "shark". It never recovered.

I don't know of anything that would help your fish. You might want to make sure that the water in her tank has plenty of oxygen and circulation. Methylene Blue is an oxygen transporter and it might help. I've never used it for that purpose, but here's a link for you:

my pacus jump outt ahte tank like every week, but theyre so loud when they do some1 either me or my brother hears them and throws them back in the tank. i put stress coat in every time they jump out, but with a dried up fish i would put her in a hospital tank and treat with melafix and put some extra aireation in the tank, the Methylene Blue also sounds like a good idea even tho ive never used it. keep us poseted on how it tuns out, we all hate loseing fish to self suicide.

That's great news. Eating and swimming says she is recovering. just make sure no fish will pick on her. :)

DLT: I don't know what else methylene blue is used for. In aquaria, it is mainly used for treating and preventing fungus. Now there are more powerful medications out there for that purpose, at least from what I read. People who breed fish use them in the water to prevent egg fungus.

If your fish is already eating then perhaps you don't need to add MB. I would think that she would not eat if she can't get enough oxygen. How about adding an airstone, or something like that. There are also additives that you can use to help get more oxygen in the water. These additives are usually recommended by aquatronics when you treat fish. It might not hurt to do that.

By the way, MB might affect your biological filtration.
