Okay, so now that I have your attention...:evil_lol:... I've never had angels before (hence the virgin part), and would like to know if angels like bubblers, or if they prefer the water to be still. Probably a silly question, but when I get my angels, I want them to like their new home.

doens't matter really with most fish, personally I do not like the looks of "bubblers" but it shouldn't be a problem

it doesn't matter - if you like the look of a bubbler, get one. otherwise, your filtration should provide enough oxygen in the water - that's the important thing. if the water is very still at the surface and your fish are gasping for air, a bubbler will help them to breathe better (as long as it is a matter of oxygen and not bad water quality). adding a powerhead or lowering the water level so there is surface agitation present will do the same thing. the most important thing is tank size and a good understanding of their aggression - they grow quickly, get quite large, and whoever named them "angels" was way off the mark. i have 4 in a 150g tank, and they still fight and chase each other, sometimes viciously. if they get annoyed with each other, they can really get into it.

I brought two marbled/koi angels home yesterday and they kept hiding together in a corner. So this morning I turned the bubbler off and they slowly started coming into the open more often. Don't know if it was just a coincidence in the timing. They're all over the place now - quite happy. Their favorite place to rest is in a space that I left bare bottom. Think they like looking at themselves in the reflection.
