We went to Pitsfield today and on one of those semi-impulse trips, I got a pair of baby syno. eupterus. I say semi impulse because I was thinking of getting a baby euppie sometime. Well...I got tempted by a special sale is what it amounts to...I got these two babies for about the price of one.
Plus I never see them sold locally, synos in general are rare around in these neck of the woods.

I'd like them to be living in my betta tank as they are way to small to be in with the big euppies.. I think they may have to double in length. Not so much worried about the elder featherfins as the five- six inch cichlids living with them. If this doesn't work out, I'll have to relocate them to my pleco tank. Well after they go into quarantine ( displacing one of my male bettas temp)

Tiny baby euppies.... Takes me way back...I remember when my euppies were babies in my 55 gal and used to stick like velco to some driftwood.

Also I got a thai onion plant, plant bulbs and a crypt. Was going to get some frozen food because there was a larger selection...was afraid it would thaw out in the long drive home.

Really?...I don't recall mine growing that quickly...Then again maybe I didn't take as good care of mine as you did. I'll keep that in mind.

I actually never realized what I was coming into when I bought 4 baby Synodontis eupterus.:shakehead: They were the greediest feeders and have outcompeted several community fish. I was given quite a surprise when I keep noticing their bellies looking like they swallowed a golf ball and in a few weeks, I was not sure if I am really hallucinating or not because it seems awhile ago, they are just small. I begin to realize anyway that they are actually growing fast.:)

When I got my first one ( I got each of my trio individually) I didn't know about the baby coloration thing and though I was getting Synodontis schoutedeni. Because well that's what they seemed to match in the Axelrod book I had at the time.
