im planning on getting a big giant turbo snail for my tank to clean off the algae on the glass. but i don't want these snails also eat coralline algae off my live rocks or eat any organisms on rock nor the sand which is for a mandarin goby i plan on getting. may i hear all pros and cons about these giant tiger turbo snails? thanks

These snails only really feed off macro algae and diatoms, not coraline or via sand sifting if knowledge serves me right. They are part of the tronchus spp family. one of the downsides is that if they fall upside down, and not righted by human intervention, they will die or before eaten by scavengers..

If you are talking about the Zebra Turbo they shouldnt bother the coraline alges and the can rightthem selfs or at least mine always did when they would fall ,but just keep in mind they will knock things over very easy.

My zebras roam all over eating.. They have been on my rock but the coraline is always fine afterwords so I don't think that will be a problem. They are the best glass cleaners that I have in my tank.
My zebra turbo was great. Poor guy was at the end of his life cycle when I got him I believe. Worst smell ever when he was removed.
