I don't have any experience with loaches, but I want to get some kuhlis for my 20 long. I know that in general loaches will eat snails, but I want to know if kuhlis would bother apple snails or Japanese trap door snails since I read that they only eat small snails and immobile fry? I also have Amano shrimp and will be adding cherry shrimp, so would either of those be bothered by Kuhlis? The tank has many hiding places and mid level schooling fish so I don't anticipate territory problems.

Kuhlis will not eat snails and shrimps. Larva and eggs however are done.;)

Lemons and Von Rios. I didn't notice the Blue Emperors messing with them. I don't think the neons would be a problem, but you just really never can be sure. Just to be safe, I would put 1 or 2 in and see how they do together.

I have some Amanos in there; I should try to count them one day to see if I still have six, but they were fairly hard to find and count before I put anything else in the tank, so now it might be impossible.

Will they eat baby cherry shrimp? Even though they are not actually larva they are tiny.
There is a chance they will but unlikely because they do not roam beyond the bottom level at all.
What kind of Tetras? I have neon tetras in there now.
All tetras will likely consume the shrimps if these are a centimeter and smaller. Tetras are carnivorous by nature.

When you say them, are you referring to the shrimps? If so, even these will eat the shrimps if these are very small. Emperor tetras can be slightly aggressive and are very feisty so expect them to peck other tetras of their own size.
