Media Bags for peat moss in power filter -mesh size: 800 or 250microns?

I am not a fan of peat in filters for numerous reasons. There are better ways for having peat treated water. that said, when I did experiment with it in a filter, I used and old stocking to hold it.

I tried putting some Unigrow peat in an 8" by 12" 800 micron bag and found that water would not flow readily through the media. So If were to try it again I would go with a 250 micron bag.

Sorry, I meant a more porous bag rather than a finer one.
I found Unigrow peat to be quite messy to work with and it did not let the water through very well . Maybe there are other less finely ground up brands out there that would work better.
I bought some Keta Peat nuggets from Drs. Foster and Smith and put some in my extra media baskets a couple weeks ago. This stuff is much easier to work with but it is also more expensive than regular peat, about the same cost as good activated carbon. Have not noticed any change in water parameters yet but it does do a good job of filteration.
