help!!

I think my tank has FLEAS!

last couple of days there has been a HUGE infestation of little TINY ...... they look like fleas crawling on the glass of the tank.....


there are TONS of them...

I'd love to show you a picture of them... but I can barely see them.. let alone photo them...

LMAO... my gf says they look like sperm.


what I have in the tank:

14 gallon Biocube,

12lbs live rock

two turbo snails

3 hermit crabs

1 cleaner shrimp.


had a box crab... but managed to get rid of him..... now its something else!
 
I agree copepods,they are good for your tank and shows the tank is maturing.
 
those done be your micro homeboys!!

you want them, they're poo eaters.

this is my first SW Tank... so I've no idea what to expect...

went out today and p/u a big magnifying glass... so I can see all the stuff!! lol

I'll post some pics though... cause I've got some strange purpleish algae growing EVERYWHERE now... ever since that box crab came out.. the tank has exploded!!
 
I have these also in a new setup and at first its a lil creepy. All these lil things running crazy on the glass. They're quick lil bugs. My tank has just been showing signs of life everywhere. The purple is good too, i think. My tank has purple, red to pink, yellow, and green all over the LR. Looks so cool. I also have amphipods and copepods. last week or so i have noticed that the bugs on the glass have tripled atleast.
 
is the purple algea hard? if so it is coral line algea, that is good for your tank i beleive that purple and grren is good, and red and brown are bad!

didn't want to bring back this topic, but I too am having this "flea" infestation.

my new tank has been running for about 2 weeks now. I got my 30 gals sump last sunday and added some live rock. today when the the lights turned on, guess what I found? marine fleas or copepods like you guys call me.

is this just a phase or a permanent thing? the chromis seem to love eat. hahaha
