Is it worth it to...?

I have a 160 gph powerhead pumping water through my U.V. sterializer. I am debating whether or not I should get a Rena Filstar xP1 canister filter to pump the water through the sterializer so that I would have filtered water going through the starializer, more water would go through, and I would use the microfiltration pad to help polish the water. Should I get one?
